Old Fashioned Buttermilk Biscuits

By

Biscuits are good for what ails you and are great any time. Serve a low sugar jam or maple syrup on a hot biscuit and enjoy! (Trust me when I tell you that hot biscuits don’t need butter or margarine. Try one once with just jam or syrup. Is that a deal?)

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 450 F. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Cut in (kids love to do this) the oil until mixture is mealy. Stir in buttermilk. Dough should be soft and puffy. Place dough on floured board and knead 20 times (get the kids involved). Roll out to ½-inch thick. Cut into rounds and place on a nonstick baking pan. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
