  • 1/2 cup bulgur
  • generous 3/4 cup chicken broth

  • 1/2 tablespoon of EVOO
  • COUSCOUS (REGULAR OR WHOLE WHEAT):
  • 1/2 cup couscous
  • 1/2 cup water or chicken broth
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • COUSCOUS (ISRAELI):
  • 1/2 tablespoon EVOO
  • 1 minced shallot
  • 1/2 cup Israeli couscous
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • pinch of salt
  • herbs and zest to taste
  • FARRO/SPELT:
  • 1/2 cup farro or spelt (for 1 cup cooked grain)
  • 1 1/2 cups water or broth
  • pinch of salt
  • FREEKEH:
  • 70 grams dry weight Freekeh
  • 2/3 cup water or broth
  • pinch of salt
  • PEARL BARLEY:
  • 1/4 cup pearl barley
  • generous 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • pinch of salt
  • POT BARLEY:
  • 1/4 cup pot barley
  • generous 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon becel buttery to serve
  • QUINOA:
  • 1/2 cup quinoa, rinsed if necessary
  • 2/3 cup chicken broth
  • pinch of salt
  • WHEAT BERRIES:
  • 1/3 cup wheat berries
  • 2/3 cup chicken broth
  • pinch of salt
  • WILD RICE:
  • 6 tablespoons wild rice
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • pinch of salt

Step 1

*BARLEY BLEND (PC):*

* Soak Barley Blend in cold water in rice cooker before you leave for work. When you get home, drain, add chicken broth and salt and set for one cycle at *brown rice*. Take approximately

*BULGUR:*

* One cycle at *brown rice*. Takes approximately

*COUSCOUS (REGULAR OR WHOLE WHEAT):*

* One cycle at *white rice*. Takes approximately

*COUSCOUS (ISRAELI):*

* Saute shallot, then couscous in olive oil until toasted. Put in rice cooker with broth and cook one cycle at *white rice*. Takes approximately

*FARRO/SPELT:*

* Dry toast first if desired. Soak for 1 hour before cooking if you have the time. Cook one cycle at *brown rice*. When done, add fresh herbs and grated lemon, orange or lime zest to taste then steam for another 15 minutes. Without soaking, takes approximately

*FREEKEH*

* Combine ingredients and cook one cycle on Brown Rice setting*

*PEARL BARLEY:*

* One cycle at *white rice*. Takes approximately

*POT BARLEY:*

* One cycle at *brown rice*. Takes approximately *1 1/2 hours*.

*QUINOA:*

* One cycle at *brown rice*. Takes approximately
