- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup margarine, softened
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 15 ounces extra-sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded

Preheat oven to 350°.
In a large bowl, combine butter, margarine, flour, salt, and cayenne pepper; stir. Gradually add cheese, stirring well.
Place cheese mixture in a hand-crank cookie press fitted with the star plate. Press out long strips onto parchment-lined cookie sheets.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until firm. Cool completely on wire racks. Store at room
