Ingredients

  • 1 package yellow cake mix (18.25 ounces)
  • 1 can apple pie filling (21 ounces)
  • 1 can peaches in heavy syrup (29 ounces)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup coconut
  • 1 stick butter

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Pour the apple pie filling into a 9" x 13" baking dish.
3. Use a spatula or spoon to even the apple pie filling out in the baking dish.
4. Pour the peaches and syrup over the apple pie filling.
5. Spread gently over apple pie filling.
6. Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the peaches.
7. Gently spread cake mix over peaches with a spoon.
8. Do not stir.
9. Cut the butter into very thin slices and cover the entire top of the cake mix.
10.Sprinkle the nuts on top.
11.Sprinkle the coconut on top.
12. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until the top of the cake is golden brown and the cake passes the Toothpick Test.

After 15 minutes check with toothpick into the center of the cake and pull it out. If the toothpick looks wet, the cake needs more baking time.

Also check for areas of dry cake mix and if needed, cover with additional butter and continue baking for the remaining baking time.

While warm, so good with ice cream
