Ingredients

  • 2 pks. yeast 2 teaspoons salt (I only use 1)
  • ½ cup warm water 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cup scalded milk
  • 1/3 cup shortening 5-1/2 cups flour (approximately)
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Soften yeast in warm water for about 10 minutes. Scald milk and stir in shortening, sugar, and salt until lukewarm. Add beaten eggs and yeast and 1 cup of the flour. Beat well. Add remaining flour until dough forms ball using dough hook on mixer. Let raise in
greased bowl until doubled (about 1 hour). Punch down and roll out into either dinner rolls or cinnamon rolls. If making cinnamon rolls, roll dough out, spread with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Let double and bake at 400 for 10-12 minutes.
