Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp each: garlic powder and salt
  • 1/4 tsp each: ground nutmeg and pepper
  • 3/4 cup dry white wine, divided
  • 1 1/2 lb russet potatoes (about 4 medium), unpeeled, 1/8 inch thick sliced
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere, Emmenthal or Swiss cheese

Step 1

Seasoning Mixture:
Mix garlic powder, salt, nutmeg, and peper in a small bowl.

Pour 1/3 of wine into a 8-inch square microwave-safe baking dish--tipping to coat the bottom.
Top with 1/3 of the potatoes, then sprinkle with 1/3 of the spice mixture and 1/3 of the cheese.

Repeat layering steps twice to form 3 layers.

Cover with a lid or seal with plastic wrap. Microwave on HIGH for 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender when pieced with a fork.
