Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 2/3 package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 lb - 4 squares, of butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Karo white syrup
  • 1/4 cup water

Step 1

On a cookie sheet spread a thin layer of the finely chopped pecans, and the chocolate chips. Set aside.

In a very heavy saucepan, add the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, it will get thick right away. Cook over medium heat, approximately 15 minutes.

If you want to test, drop some in cold water. It should give the brittle test. Then pour over nuts and chocolate chips. Sprinkle additional chopped nuts and chocolate chips if desired. Cool and break into pieces.
