Ingredients

  • Crust
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cub butter, softened
  • Filling
  • 6 squares semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 1/2 cups corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups chopped pecans
  • Drizzle
  • 2 squares semi-sweet chocolate

Preparation

Step 1

Crust: Combine flour, sugar and butter in large bowl and mix until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press firmly into greased 15" x 10" jelly roll pan. Bake at 350° F for 15 minutes.

Filling: Heat chocolate and corn syrup over low heat, stirring until melted. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla until blended. Stir in pecans. Pour over hot crust and spread evenly. Bake at 350° F for 25-30 min, or until filling is firm around edges and slightly soft in centre. Cool in pan on rack.

Drizzle: Melt chocolate over hot water or in microwave on medium for 2-3 min. Drizzle over top. Cool.
