Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. canola oil
  • 8 T. grade B maple syrup
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 T. water
  • 4 c. old fashioned oats
  • 4 T. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 T. ground flaxseed
  • 2/3 c. coconut
  • 2/3 c. sliced almond (or your favorite nut/seed)
  • 2/3 raisins (or your favorite dried fruit)

Preparation

Step 1

1 - Preheat oven to 275.

2 - In a small saucepan, bring the canola oil, syrup, cinnamon and water to a simmer.

3 - In a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients. This is where you can really get creative, and stir in whatever you like in your granola.

4 - Add syrup mixture and stir well.

5 - Pour onto two greased cookie sheets, and squeeze the granola into clumps with your hands.

6 - Bake 30 minutes. Stir granola, and bake 30 more minutes, or until golden brown.

7 - Cool completely and store in an airtight container.
