Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 large onion
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • small piece of ginger
  • 2 large tomatoes, chopped
  • chopped almonds or cashews
  • 2 Tbsp. canola oil
  • 400 grams paneer
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream & water
  • 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
  • chopped nuts for garnish
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. red chili powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp. fenugreek leaves
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2-3 green cardomom
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp. coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin powder

Step 1

Melt 1/2 cup butter in a hot pan. Add 2 tsp. of cumin seed to fry. Add the chopped onion with 2-3 pices of small giner and 3-4 cloves of garlic and fry.
When the garlic gets color take them out and grind them to make a paste.
In the same butter put the chopped tomatoes and some chopped nuts and fry them together for 2-3 minutes.
Take them out and grind them well to make a tomato paste.
Put 2 Tbsp. oil in the pan, fry the paneer pices until they get color. Add 2 bay leaves, 2-3 green cardomom seeds, 2-3 cloves and fry them till the juices are out. Add the onion paste.
Add 1/2 of the cumin powder, 1/2 tsp. coriander, 2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. turmeric, 1 tsp. chili powder. Mix them well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Add the tomato paste and blend it thoroughly. Add the fried paneer pieces.
Cook for 7-8 minutes.
Add 1/2 cup cream and some water. Cook for another 5-6 minutes.
Add 1/2 tsp sugar, 1/2 of garam masala and 1/2 tsp. black pepper.
Spread some fenugreek seed crushed with your finger.
Garnish with some chopped nuts, cook for another couple of minutes.
