Ingredients
- 2 Cups Flour
- 2 Cups Sugar
- 1 Cup Margarine, cut in chunks
- 4 Tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 Cup Water
- 1/2 Cup Buttermilk
- 2 Eggs, Slightly Beaten
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 tsp Baking Soda

Preparation
Step 1
Sift flour and sugar into mixing bowl. Combine margarine, cocoa, and water in a pan and bring to a boil. Pour over flour and sugar; mix well. Mix in buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, and soda.
Pour into greased 15 x 11-inch sheet pan (cookie pan with sides or jelly roll pan) and bake at 375F for 16 minutes.
Top with icing while cake is still hot.
ICING:
1/2 Cup Butter
4 Tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
3 Cup Milk
1 (1-lb) Box Powdered Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
1 Cup Nuts, chopped (optional)
While cake is baking, combine margarine, cocoa, and milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Beat in sugar gradually. Add vanilla and stir in nuts. Spread on cake while hot.
