Ingredients
- Sift together in large mixing bowl:
- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- ½ t. salt
- In saucepan, melt ½ c. shortening, 1 stick margarine,
- 3 T cocoa, 1 c. water. Bring to boil and pour over
- sugar mixture. Add 2 beaten eggs, ½ c. buttermilk,
- 1 t. soda, 1 t. vanilla. Bake in greased jelly roll pan
- at 350 for 20 minutes.

Step 1
Frosting: 1 stick margarine, 3 T cocoa, 6 T canned
milk, 1 t. vanilla, 1 box powdered sugar, 1/3 c. chopped
pecans or walnuts. Melt margarine in saucepan. Add
cocoa, then milk. Heat, but don’t boil. Remove from heat
and add vanilla, sugar, & nuts. Mix well. Frost cake while
warm.
