Ingredients
- Dough:
- 4 eggs separated (beat whites until stiff beat yellows)
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup sugar2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 1/2 cup sifted flour
- 1/2 cup oil
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- Filling:
- Prune jam or apricot

Step 1
Beat egg whites stiff, add oil and mix together. Then add beaten yellows with salt, and mix. Add other ingredients and include the baking powder and flour last. Allow mixture to stand a few minutes. Roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Make circles of dough using cover of coffee jar or round cookie cutter. Place a rounded teaspoon of filling in center. Bring 3 points of circle to center to form a triangle or tricorn shape. Pinch edges together to form ridges. Moisten edges with water, if necessary. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake in moderate over (350) until lightly browned (about 25-35 minutes).
