Ingredients

  • Brownie:
  • 1/2 C. shortening
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 C. flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 C. nuts (optional)
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • Frosting:
  • 1 square unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1-2 C. confectioners sugar
  • 3 T. butter
  • Vanilla to taste
  • Milk, smooth to taste

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

2. Cream butter, sugar. Add eggs, flour, nuts, and melted chocolate.

3. Bake in 9x9 pan for 20 minutes. Let cool.

For Frosting:
4. Mix unsweetened chocolate, confectioners sugar, butter, and vanilla. Add milk to create a smooth texture.

5. Spread frosting over brownies.
