Ingredients

  • TOPPING:
  • 3 Tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 3 Tablespoons milk
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 large tart apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine flour baking powder and salt; mix well.
Add egg yolks and milk; mix well and set aside.
In a small mixing bowl, eat egg whites until foamy.
Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
Fold into yolk mixture; add lemon juice. Pour into a greased 1-1/2 qt. shallow baking dish.
Arrange apple slices on top. Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over all.
Bake, uncovered, at 375 for 18-20 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Serve immediately.
