  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 6 tbsp. oil
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Step 1

In medium bowl combine flour, cornstarch, salt, baking powder and baking soda. In another bowl combine buttermilk, oil and egg yolk. In a small bowl beat the egg whites until soft peaks and add sugar and beat until thick and glossy. Pour the buttermilk mixture into the flour mixture and whisk. Then fold in the egg whites.
