Ingredients
- For the dressing:
- 1 head romaine, washed, dried and chopped
- 2 large tomatoes, chopped
- 8 ounces or 1 cup cooked apple-wood smoked bacon, cut into pieces
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 shallot, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons chopped chives
- Salt and pepper to taste

Step 1
To make dressing, whisk together buttermilk, mayonnaise, shallot, lemon juice and chives in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
For salad, toss romaine, tomatoes and bacon in a serving bowl. Toss with dressing and serve immediately.
