Ingredients

  • 5 c. flour
  • 3 Tbs. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 lb. lard
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbs. white vinegar
  • 5 Tbs. cold water

Preparation

Step 1

Measure the dry ingredients. Cut in the lard until mixture is the size of small peas.

Greak the egg in 8 oz. measuring cup. Beat; add vinegar and then add enough cold water to make 8 oz.

Pour water over mixture a little at a time, tossing with a fork.

Shape into a ball and divide into four sections. Wrap tightly. Each section makes a double crust.
