Ingredients

  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1/2 pound pork sausage
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 medium onions
  • 3 heaping tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons Heinz ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 15.5 ounce tomato sauce
  • 3 15.5 ounce Brooks Chili Hot Beans
  • 1/8 teaspoon Moser flakes (red pepper flakes)

Preparation

Step 1

In a 4 quart pot, brown meat, skim fat. Add salt, coarse chopped onion and cook 1 to 3 minutes. Add chili powder, tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar and moser flakes with about ½ cup of water. Simmer for 3 to 4 hours covered.

Add beans, simmer for 1 hour. After adding beans, stir every 15 to 20 minutes.

Makes about 3 quarts.
