This recipe came with my first Wolf oven in 2006. Excellent, first made 3-4-2006.

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks plus 2 tsp. unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1-1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp. strong brewed coffee
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 3-1/2 cups flour
  • 3 cups chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees convection mode.

In the work bowl of a mixer, cream the butter with the sugars until smooth. One at a time, add the eggs, scraping down the bowl between the two. Add the vanilla and coffee and continue to mix on medium high speed until the batter is light and fluffy. Sift together the flour, baking soda and baking powder and salt and add to the bowl with the mixer stopped. Add the chocolate chips and mix on low speed for 10 seconds. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula and mix again until just combined.

Line 3 baking sheets with parchment paper.

Scoop out large cookies, 12 to a pan. Place on racks 1, 3 and 5. Bake until done, about 15 minutes.
