Ingredients

  • 1 C. chopped dates
  • 3/4 C. chopped prunes
  • 3/4 C. golden raisins
  • 1/2 C. sliced almonds, lightly toasted
  • 1 T. liquid honey
  • 2 tsp. brandy (optional)
  • Extra-fine sugar (for rolling)
  • Whole cloves (for decoration)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Place dried fruits, toasted almonds, honey and brandy, if using, in food processor. Process until fruit is well-chopped and mixture sticks together like a stiff dough.

2. Transfer mixture to a bowl. Using hands wetted with cold water, roll mixture into small oblongs the size of large grapes. Roll in extra fine
sugar. Insert a clove into one end of each sugarplum.

Tip: Sugarplums will keep well in a sealed container for one week, but must be re-rolled in sugar just before packaging.
