Ingredients
- 1 pound of bulk sausage
- 2 pkg of hash browns (FROM REFRIGERATOR SECTION -- "Simply Potatoes")
- (I use one package of Southwestern potatoes and one package plain, but good with both plain, too)
- 2 pkgs of peppered gravy mix (dry mix -- McCormick brand is very good)
- 4 1/4 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Preparation
Step 1
Brown the sausage and drain. Set aside to cool.
Mix the milk with the dry gravy and then cook until just starts to bubble -- take off heat immediately.
Keep stirring for a few moments to cool.
Liberally spray 9 x 13 glass baking dish with cooking spray. Spread one package of potatoes on bottom
of pan. Sprinkle cheese over potatoes, then top with second package of potatoes. PRESS FIRMLY
IN BOTTOM OF PAN.
Top with the gravy then sprinkle browned sausage on top. (Depending on the size of the baking dish,
not all of gravy will fit.)
At this point, you can cover and place in refrigerator until ready to bake or you can bake immediately.
Cover with foil and bake at 400 degrees for 45-50 minutes, removing the foil for about the last 15-20 minutes.
If refrigerated overnight, a few more minutes baking time may be needed.
