  • 6 cups bread flour
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tea salt
  • 1 cup sour dough starter
  • 1/2 cup corn oil
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water

Step 1

Mix all ingredients in large bowl. Grease another bowl with oil. Put dough in bowl and turn over so there is oil on all sides. Cover lightly with foil and let stand over night. (oven is a good place) After 8 to 12 hours punch down and knead a little. Divide into 3 parts. Kneed each part on a floured board 8 to 10 times. Shape into loaves and put into 3 greased loaf pans. Brush with oil, cover with wrap and let rise out of drafts usually 5 to 8 hours.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from oven and remove from pan.

Brush with melted butter.
Cool. Can be frozen.
