Ingredients

  • 5 C. old-fashioned rolled oats (about 1 lb.)
  • 2 C. wheat-bran cereal
  • 1 C. blanched whole or slivered almonds
  • 1/2 C. sunflower seeds
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 C. honey
  • 1/2 C. sunflower or corn oil
  • 1 C. dark seedless raisins (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 300°F. Line large, shallow roasting pan with aluminum foil. In large bowl, combine oats, bran cereal, almonds, sunflower seeds, and cinnamon.

2. In 1 qt. saucepan, heat honey and oil just until bubbles appear around side of pan. Pour honey mixture over oat mixture and toss until well combined.

3. Spread granola evenly in foil-lined pan. Bake 40 to 50 minutes, or until cereal is golden, stirring every 10 minutes. Stir in raisins, if desired.

4. Cool and store in airtight container.
