Ingredients

  • 24 sugar cubes
  • 2 tbsp (25 ml) peppermint extract
  • 1/3 cup (75 ml) cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp (25 ml) granulated sugar
  • 8 cups milk
  • 1 tin Peppermint Cocoa Mix

Preparation

Step 1

1. Place sugar cubes on wax paper. Carefully drizzle peppermint extract onto sugar cubes. Allow to air-dry about 2 hours (the cubes will not
be totally dry to the touch).
2. Mix together the cocoa powder and the granulated sugar,
3. Put sugar cubes and cocoa powder mixture in a lidded metal tin. Makes enough mix to flavor 8 cups (2 L) of milk

In a heavy pot, heat about 2 cups (500 ml.) of the milk to a bare simmer. Stir in entire tin of Peppermint Cocoa Mix with a whisk until sugar cubes have dissolved. Add rest of mil and bring back to a simmer. Serve hot.
