Ingredients
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp anise extract
- 1 tsp anise extract
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- 2 Tbsp hot water

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar and baking powder. Make a well in the center and add the oil, milk, 1 Tbsp anise extract and eggs. Mix together until the dough is sticky.
3. Oil fingers and pinch off dough in 1 inch pieces. Roll into a ball and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet, 1 inch apart, flatten slightly. Bake for 8 minutes and dip the cookies into the icing, while the cookies are still warm.
4. Make the Icing. Blend is 1 tsp anise extract with the hot water to 1 cup confectioners sugar to form a smooth icing.
