Ingredients

  • 2 cups butter (1 pound)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup finely chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

In large heavy bottom saucepan, combine butter, sugar, salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring until butter is melted. Allow to come to a slow boil, and cook until mixture becomes dark amber in color, and temperature has reached 285 degrees. Stir occasionally.
While toffee is cooking cover a large baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
As soon as the toffee reaches the proper temperature, pour it on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and let them set for a minutes and then spread in a even layer. Sprinkle with nuts.
Place toffee n fridge till set. Break into pieces, and store in a airtight container.
