Ingredients

  • Crumb Mixture:
  • 1/4 lb margarine or butter (I use unsalted butter)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 pint sour cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Step 1


Mix together crumb mixture.

Cream butter and sugar. Add sour cream and vanilla. sift dry ingredients, add to mixture, add eggs, whole one at a time.

Grease pan. Pour in half of the batter, add half of crumb mixture, add rest of batter, add remaining crumb mixture.

Bake 350 degrees-45 minutes.

Makes one large coffee cake (I use bundt or tube), or two loaves (I use 8 1/2" x 4 1/1" x 2 1/2" pans)
