Homemade Ice Cream

Ingredients

• 3 pints of strawberries
• 2 1/4 cups sugar
• 3 pints of half-and-half
• 1 tbsp. of vanilla
• For peach ice cream, substitute 5 lbs of peaches for strawberries and add dash of almond extract

Preparation

Step 1

Remove stems and slice strawberries. Place in a bowl with 2 1/4 cups sugar and let sit for an hour until sugar dissolves. Place sugared berries and juice in blender and puree until smooth. Pour strawberry puree, 3 pints of half-and-half and 1 tbsp vanilla into your ice cream maker. Make ice cream following your machine's instructions.
