Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups sifted cake flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 6 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon grated orange peel - use more
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 6 egg whites
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- Note: 1 cup cake flour = 1cup - 2 tbs all purpose flour

Preparation
Step 1
Combibe 1 1/3 cups sifted cake flour & 1/3 cup sugar, set aside
Beat 6 egg yolks til thick & lemon colored, add 1 tbs grated orange peel& 1/2 cup orange juice, beat til very thick
Gradually add 2/3 cup sugar & 1/4 tsp salt
Sift flour mixture into egg yolk mixture & fold in
Beat 6 egg whites with cream of tartar til soft peaks, add 1/2 cup sugar & beat til stiff peaks
Fold yolk mixture into white
Bake in ungreased 10" tube pan at 325 about 55 mins
Invert cake in pan & cool completely
