Ingredients

  • for vegan recipe substitute for chocolate:
  • 12 ounces dark or semi sweet chocolate
  • 12 ounces soft silken tofu
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pie shell
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 7/8 cup sugar
  • 9 tablespoons shortening
  • to use half of each type of chocolate:
  • 6 oz chocolate
  • 3/8 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • scant 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons shortening

Step 1

melt chocolate, cool to luke warm

puree tofu in food processor, add chocolate & process til well blendedl

add vanilla & pulse to blend

spread into pie shell, refrigerate 60 mins to set; let stand 15 mins at room temp to serve

keeps in refrigerator 2-3 days
