Makes about 6 pint jars
The original recipe from www.smokeandgrill.com called for 1/2 cup of salt but that was way to salty for me.

Sweet Refrigerator Pickles 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 12-15 medium pickling cucumbers
  • 2 small onions
  • 2 jalapeno peppers
  • 4 cups white vinegar
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup pickling salt
  • 2 tsp mustard seed
  • 2 tsp celery seed
  • 1 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp dill seed

Preparation

Step 1

Combine dry ingredients
Add vinegar
Stir until dissolved

Slice onions, peppers and cucumbers (I use food processor)
Layer in plastic container
Pour brine over top
Let set 15 minutes or so
Put in refrigerator overnight
Put in sterile jars
