Ingredients
- Base:
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- Filling:
- 2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
- Topping:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp milk
- 1 cup icing sugar, sifted

Step 1
Base: Melt butter in large pot. Stir in brown sugar, egg and vanilla. Blend together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to butter mixture, along with pecans. Spread batter in greased 8" square pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-30 minutes. Immediately scatter marshmallows over entire surface of hot cake. Press gently to flatten.
Topping: Melt butter in pot. Add brown sugar and simmer over low heat, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Add milk, stirring until mixture returns to a boil. Remove from heat. Gradually add icing sugar, beating with a wooden spoon after each addition until smooth. If necessary, thin icing with a few drops of milk. Spread quickly over top of marshmallows. Cool before cutting into squares.
