Honey-Chipotle Pecans
Look for ground chipotle chiles in the spice section of the supermarket.

- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground chipotle chiles
- 2 cups pecan halves
- Coarse kosher salt
- Aniseed

Preparation
Bring honey, sugar, and ground chipotles to boil in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Add pecans. Cook until syrup thickens, darkens, and begins to smoke, stirring often, about 6 minutes. Turn out onto foil. Using 2 forks, quickly separate nuts. Sprinkle with coarse salt and aniseed. Cool completely (coating will become crisp). Break nuts apart.
