Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1-1/4 stick margarine (melted)
  • 1 carton (8oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 8 oz package cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 packages frozen strawberries (10 oz. each)
  • 2 small packages strawberry jello (3 oz each)
  • 2 cups hot pineapple juice or water

Preparation

Step 1

Mix pretzels, 2 teaspoons sugar and melted margarine. Spread in 9x13 inch pan and bake for 10 minutes in 200 degree oven. Let cool.

Mix cream cheese with 1 cup sugar. Blend with whipped topping and spread over top of cooled pretzel mixture. Dissolve gelatin in boiling liquid; add frozen strawberries.
Stir until strawberries separate. This also helps set and thicken gelatin. Pour over cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate to set gelatin, at least 2-3 hours. Cut into squares and serve chilled.
