Pierogi with Ham and Asparagus

Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 (12 0z) pkg. diced cooked ham, drained
- 1/2 pound asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 tsp bottled minced garlic
- 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 (15 oz) can chicken broth
- 1 (8 oz) container chive and onion cream cheese, softened
- 2 (16 oz each) pkgs frozen potato and Cheddar pierogi, baked according to package directions
- 1 c chopped grape tomatoes

Preparation
Step 1
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add ham, asparagus, and garlic; cook, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes.
Sprinkle flour over mixture, and cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.
Slowly stir in broth; cook, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Add cream cheese, stirring until melted.
Spoon ham mixture over baked pierogi; top with tomatoes.
