Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh asparagus spears
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 Tbsps butter
- 1/2 tsp dried whole basil
- 1 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese
- Lemon twists (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
Snap off tough ends of asparagus. Remove scales with a knife, if desired. Arrange spears in a 10 x 6 x 2 inch dish with stem ends towards outside of dish; add water.
Cover with heavy-duty plastic wrap; microwave at HIGH 4 minutes or until crisp-tender. Let stand, covered, 5 minutes. Drain.
Combine butter, lemon juice, and basil in a 1-cup glass measurer. Microwave on HIGH 1 minutes and stir well. Arrange asparagus on a platter; pour juice mixture over asparagus. Sprinkle with cheese. Garnish with lemon, if desired.
