Ingredients

- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flour

- 5-6 peeled and sliced Granny Smith apples
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup sugar ( )
- Pie Crust
- 1 1/8 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (cold) cut into pieces
- 4-6 About 4-6 tablespoons ice water

Preparation
Step 1
Combine flour, salt and sugar in a food processor and pulse 1-2 times. Add the butter and process until the butter and flour are blended and the mixture looks like cornmeal. Place mixture into a bowl and sprinkle with 4 tablespoons ice water. Use a spoon to gradually gather mixture into a ball. If it seems dry, add another tablespoon or 2 of water. When formed into a ball, wrap in plastic and flatten into a small disk. Place in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Roll dough between two sheets of plastic wrap sprinkled with flour. Roll with light pressure then move dough into a pie plate. Press firmly into the bottom and sides.
Combine all ingredients for filling and pour into pie shell. In a medium bowl combine all ingredients for topping and crumble over the top of the apple mixture. Bake at 400 for 40-50 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream or real whipped cream.
