Ingredients

  • Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • grated rind of 1 lemon
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • juice of 1 lemon

Preparation

Step 1

Mix the sugar and butter together until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time. Add lemon rind. Mix dry ingredients together. Alternate adding part of the flour mixture then part of the milk. Mix then add the rest of the flour and milk. Bake at 350 for about 45-55 minutes.

Stir the sugar and lemon juice together and pour over hot bread. Slice and devour!
