Ingredients

  • ● 4 sticks margarine
  • ● 3 1/2 cup sugar
  • ● 4 eggs
  • ● 4 tsp vanilla
  • ● 8 cup flour
  • ● 2 tsp baking soda
  • ● 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ● 1 tsp salt
  • ● 1 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • Half Recipe
  • ● 2 sticks margarine
  • ● 1 3/4 cup sugar
  • ● 2 eggs
  • ● 2 tsp vanilla
  • ● 4 cup flour
  • ● 1 tsp baking soda
  • ● 1 tsp baking powder
  • ● 1/2 tsp salt
  • ● 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • Frosting
  • ● 1 cup melted margarine
  • ● 8 cup powdered sugar, (32 oz bag)
  • ● vanilla or almond flavoring, to taste, (almond will be about 5-6 tsp)
  • ● milk, to make right consistency

Preparation

Step 1

1. Blend margarine and sugar.
2. Add eggs and vanilla.
3. Mix in separate large bowl: flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt.
4. Alternate flour mixture and buttermilk with margarine and sugar mixture.
5. Chill overnight in fridge or 1 1/2 - 2 hours in freezer.
6. Roll out with a lot of flour. Dough is sticky even though it's is chilled.
7. Bake at 350-375℉ (I use 350℉). Take out before they brown (about 7 minutes at 350). When you touch them with your finger and they don't leave an indentation then they are done.

8. Frost when cool.
