Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Layer sliced yams, pears and cranberries in a greased 9 X 13-inch casserole; set aside. In a saucepan, stir sugar with cornstarch until well-mixed. Add juice; stir over medium-high heat until mixture dissolves. Stir in butter and salt. Pour over yam, pear and cranberry mixture, then bake for 70 minutes, or until pears are tender.
Helpful Tips:
This is a knockout side dish. A wonderful blend of flavors meant to marry. The yams and cranberries are so colorful, too. And the sweet, thick sauce makes even the fussiest eaters come back for more. Kids love it, too.
