Ingredients
- 2 1/4 tsp yeast
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 c. milk scalded
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp mace or 1 tsp nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- 3 c. bread flour
- 1 1/4 c. all purpose flour
- 3/4 c. slivered almonds or coarse chopped almonds
- 3/4 c. muscat raisins or regular raisins

Preparation
Step 1
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 c. warm water. Scald milk in microwave for 2 min. Add butter salt, sugar to milk - cool slightly. Pour into bread machine container. Add 2 eggs and 1/4 tsp mace and yeast mixture. Add flour. Set machine on (light) . Add almonds and raisins at beep. Makes a hugh loaf.
TO BAKE IN OVEN: Mix on dough cycle. Divide dough into 5 pieces. Add enough flour that dough handles easily. Braid three pieces together. Twist last 2 pieces and place on top of braid. Let rise until about double. Bake at 350 for 25 min.
