Ingredients

  • Cheese Sauce:
  • 2 c diced, cooked ham
  • 2 medium potatoes, cooked and sliced
  • 16 oz canned green beans
  • 1/4 c butter
  • 1/4 c flour
  • 2 c milk
  • 1 c American cheese
  • Crumb Mixture:
  • 1 1/2 c bread crumbs
  • 2 T butter

Preparation

Step 1

Melt 1/4 c butter; stir in flour. Add milk, stirring until thickened. Add cheese and cook very slowly until melted. Arrange potatoes in a greased 2qt casserole. Cover with green beans. Pour half of the cheese sauce over beans. Add ham and remaining sauce. Mix 2 T melted butter with bread crumbs. Sprinkle crumbs around edge of casserole and bake in 350° oven 30-35 mn or until crumbs are lightly browned.
