My friends swear this mouthwatering dip is even more flavorful and addictive than the classic. I must say I agree. I also love that it's nearly as easy to make as opening a spice packet and it gets it's thick creaminess from healthy yogurt. Try serving this with Smoked Paprika Potato Chips.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced, green and white parts separated
  • 1 1/4 c. plain Greek-style nonfat yogurt
  • 1/4 c. mayonnaise
  • 3/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt, plus more to taste
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

heat the oil in a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and scallion whites and cook, stirring often, until golden brown and soft, about 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
In a large bowl, stir together the onion mistrue, yogurt, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper,and scallion greens to incorporate. Chill for 1 hour to let the flavors meld. Serve with baked potatoe chips.
