Ingredients
- 2 8in unbaked pie shells
- Crumbs
- 1 1/2 c brown sugar
- 3/4 c shortening
- 2 1/2 c flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
- Filling
- 1 c molasses
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 c boiling water

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 305F.
Crumbs:
Blend ingredients for crumbs together with a fork.
Filling:
Pour hot water over soda and molasses and blend. Put in unbaked pie shells. Sprinkle crumb mixture on top.
Bake for 1/2 hour or until crumbs are golden.
