Ingredients
- Crumb Topping:
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 4 large Granny Smith apples, cored, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 (9-inch) pie crust, unbaked
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 3/4 cup grated Cheddar cheese
- 3 tbsp butter
- Vanilla ice cream
- Caramel sauce

Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 F. Combine sugars, flour, cinnamon and salt. Toss with apples.
Spread apples in pie crust. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 F.
Prepare the Crumb Topping: Mix sugar, flour, cheese and butter until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly on the pie and bake for 30 minutes more, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden. Cover lightly with foil if the topping starts to darken before the apples are tender.
Serve with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, or both.
