Ingredients

  • 1/2 gallon pickles
  • 1 C pickle canning salt
  • 2 T alum
  • apple cider vinegar
  • 2 T all spice (whole)
  • 1/2 t tumeric
  • 3 C sugar
  • 2 C sugar
  • 2 C sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Slice cucs in 1 gallon jug
Add 1 C canning salt
Cover with water
Set 3 days (shake every day)
Drain
Rinse 3 times

2 T allum & cover with water
let set 24 hours
Rinse well

Cover with apple cider vinegar
DO NOT RINSE

2 T allspice (whole)
1/2t tumeric
3 C sugar

Next day 2 C sugar
Next day 2 C sugar

Shake jar once a day until sugar disolves
Ready to eat in about 1 week
