Blueberry Maple Sauce

A touch of maple syrup brings out the natural sweetness of the blueberries in this delightful fruit sauce. Try it on French Toast, waffles, pancakes, over ice cream or angel food cake, or as a drizzle for fresh fruit.

- 2 cups fresh or frozen (unsweetened) blueberries (10 oz)
- 1 tblsp pure maple syrup, plus more to taste
- 1 tblsp orange juice

Step 1
In a medium saucepan, combine the blueberries, maple syrup, and orange juice. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat to medium low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes. Transfer the mixture to a blender or use an immersion blender, and blend until almost smooth. Add more maple syrup to taste dfepending on the sweetness of the fruit. The sauce may be made up to 4 days ahead of using and stored in the refrigerator in a airtight container.
