Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar, divided
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt in small bowl, mix well and set aside. In mixer bowl, mix butter and 1 cup of the sugar until well blended and creamy. Stir in egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture, stirring until soft dough forms; do not refrigerate.

2. Combine remaining 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Roll tablespoon of dough in a ball and roll in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place on greased baking sheet, spacing slightly apart.

3. Bake 9-11 minutes or until cookies are set. Remove immediately to cooling rack.
Cool completely.
