Ingredients

  • CRUST:
  • 1-1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 tbsps cold water
  • Do the same procedure as when making crust for pies, till it is placed on the pie pan.
  • Flute it but do not prick with fork, then brush with slightly beaten egg whites.
  • FILLING:
  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 1 cup evaporated milk (scalded)
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 2 eggs whole
  • 1/4 tsp lemon rind r 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsps melted butter

Preparation

Step 1

1. Scald the evaporated milk.

2. Blend the powdered milk with boiling water till thoroughly combine and add the scalded milk. Set aside.

3. Mix the lemon rind or vanilla, sugar, cool melted butter and slightly beaten eggs and egg yolks.

4. Then, mix them all together.

5. Pour on the prepared unbaked pie crust.

6. Bake for 425 degrees (small oven) for 15 minutes and decrease to 300 degrees for 10 minutes, or 375 degrees (big oven) an lower to 250 degrees.

7. Set aside to cool.
